Terms of Sale
Last updated 25 September 2026
These terms apply when you buy from Something Kiwi through this website. We've kept them as plain as we can. Nothing here takes away your rights under New Zealand consumer law.
About us
Something Kiwi is a Māori-owned, whānau-run business based in Aotearoa New Zealand. You can reach us at contact@somethingkiwi.co.nz.
Placing an order
When you pay at checkout you're making an offer to buy. We accept it when we email your order confirmation. If we can't fill your order, for example because a one-off piece has just sold or a price was clearly shown in error, we'll let you know and refund you in full.
Prices and payment
Prices are in New Zealand dollars (NZD) and include any GST that applies. Shipping is added at checkout before you pay.
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details. Your bank may charge a conversion fee if your card isn't in NZD.
Handmade and natural pieces
Many of our pieces are carved or woven by hand from natural materials such as pounamu, bone, wood, harakeke and feathers. Colour, grain, markings and size vary from piece to piece, so what you receive may differ slightly from the photos. That's part of what makes each one unique, and it isn't a fault.
Some items are one of a kind. If two people order the same piece at nearly the same time, the first paid order gets it and we'll refund the other in full.
Shipping and delivery
We currently ship to New Zealand, Australia, United States, United Kingdom and Canada. Delivery times shown are estimates from the courier and aren't guaranteed. Once your order is sent, we'll email you tracking details where available.
Please check your delivery address at checkout. If a parcel is returned to us because the address was wrong or it wasn't collected, we may need to charge the cost of sending it again.
For orders going outside New Zealand, any import duties, taxes or customs charges in your country are your responsibility.
Returns, refunds and faulty goods
Our returns and refunds process is set out in our Store Policies.
If you're buying as a consumer in New Zealand, you have guarantees under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, for example that goods are of acceptable quality and match their description. If something is faulty, you're entitled to a repair, replacement or refund as that Act provides. Nothing in these terms limits those rights.
Our responsibility
As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for indirect or unforeseeable loss arising from your purchase, and our total responsibility for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it. This doesn't affect your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act or the Fair Trading Act.
Our designs and content
The designs, photos and words on this website belong to Something Kiwi or the artists we work with. Please don't copy or reuse them without asking us first.
Your information
How we collect and use your personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms from time to time. The terms shown when you place an order are the ones that apply to it. These terms are governed by New Zealand law.
